What is Tiger Shrimp?
Tiger shrimp, also called black tiger shrimp or giant tiger prawns, are known for their dark stripes. When cooked, their meat turns white, and the stripes turn bright red. These large shrimp are popular in Asian, European, and American markets. They taste similar to regular shrimp, but are bigger and meatier, making them perfect for dishes like stir fry.
I had some tiger shrimp in my freezer, so I decided to make this quick stir fry. Stir fries are great for using up leftover veggies and creating a delicious meal fast.
Sauce or No Sauce?
You can make this stir fry with or without sauce. Adding the sauce gives it a more Asian-inspired flavor, while skipping it gives a crispier dish. Both versions are tasty!
Perfect with Brown Rice
Serve your Tiger Shrimp Stir Fry with brown rice for a healthy, balanced meal. It’s also great for meal prep, since it cooks quickly and tastes just as good the next day.
Can’t Find Tiger Shrimp?
No worries! If you can’t find black tiger shrimp, you can use regular shrimp or any seafood you have on hand. Stir fries are meant to be flexible, so grab what’s available and use this recipe as a guide.
